Bruce Milstead

Bruce Milstead has been employed by the City of Huntington since 1992 and has served the city in many capacities. He was hired as City Manager in 2008 after serving as the Municipal Judge for the past 17 years. He has been involved in all aspect of city government, serving as administrative office manager for numerous years he is well rounded in knowledge of management, infrastructure, city utilities, governmental laws and finance. He holds a license in law enforcement and is well informed in policing. Bruce attended Angelina College and Stephen F. Austin where he studied business administration, marketing and criminology. He has currently reentered Stephen F. Austin and is in the Certified Public Management Program.

Currently an active member in the American Society of Public Managers, serving a chairperson on the Angelina County Health District Board, past member of the Angelina County Appraisal District Board, served on the Huntington Independent School District Board, Huntington Economic Development Board, Centennial Park Board, TCC Board, 20/20 Infrastructure Board Member – Chamber of Commerce.

He celebrates 20 years of marriage with his wife Janice and as a father, he is proud of his daughter Angela, whom he coached in softball as she finished her high school years at Huntington High School. She is now Dr. Angela Cochran, graduate of Stephen F. Austin College and finished her medical degree at University of Texas at Houston. He is also very proud of his two sons Brandon and Colton who both attend Huntington Schools. Thursday night is dedicated to Colton’s football games.

Responsible for conduction the business of the City of Huntington, negotiations, infrastructure, personnel, human resources, day to day activities of the City of Huntington, research and development and following through with request and orders by the City Council.
